STI Testing and Treatment
If you’ve had a positive pregnancy test, STI testing may provide you with helpful information concerning your pregnancy and reproductive health.
What is an STI?
STI stands for Sexually Transmitted Infection. STIs are very common and can affect pregnancy.
Who can qualify for free STI Testing and Treatment?
The Well Pregnancy Resource Center provides free STI testing and treatment to patients who have tested positive for pregnancy. Should a pregnant woman test positive for an STI, we offer testing and treatment for her current partner.
What STIs does The Well test for?
We currently test for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, since all three affect pregnancy and infants. The testing includes a urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Syphilis is tested through blood culture.
Why should I get tested for STIs if I’m considering my pregnancy options?
Testing for STIs is important for current and future pregnancies, as well as both male and female health, since long-term effects can occur.
